My New Year Challenge was this very sad Durham Quilt found in an attic when I was helping a friend to empty her father in laws house.</p><p>The quilt had been used to cover a large hinged loft hatch and was nailed to it. It was grubby and the sun had rotted the exposed side (attic had windows). All the edges were very worn. I had the idea that it could be saved somehow and perhaps made into something else so took it home with me. First job was to wash it, which made the bad side even worse, the fabric almost desintegrated </p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8P1VKF1T89nbkXig6Ng4CS7E-cDbCZ36AO76j0FYIzdaWaZ2fFsQ2IU0nKoecU9ZJQK6VfzchbKVE6GPJjMqtPk4omFU6I-RhDsn1oe57oInSQ8a5ejppin-sW1x6U0XYHk4DXtsL0SFhoE3F4TneGA1R7miKVupI3mmopiJEI-4Fth1w3F-Mbvrw/s4160/20230205_161516_mfnr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1968" data-original-width="4160" height="189" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8P1VKF1T89nbkXig6Ng4CS7E-cDbCZ36AO76j0FYIzdaWaZ2fFsQ2IU0nKoecU9ZJQK6VfzchbKVE6GPJjMqtPk4omFU6I-RhDsn1oe57oInSQ8a5ejppin-sW1x6U0XYHk4DXtsL0SFhoE3F4TneGA1R7miKVupI3mmopiJEI-4Fth1w3F-Mbvrw/w400-h189/20230205_161516_mfnr.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_8ozKlneiEvaMHMfbSGZ85sliSQhZ_WGwpsjMo4zrd9lw7dsawXYw7K4DF6uh3Ldqj_y7o6VbWghiZ-Rh_wW9N5eE8XqZJTGAcB1POqbE1V56gRaXUmPaXWkGMPPk4_IliEHvD_p5VzwRrym26MRsO-WygA8T_iZuV4qvuYYBhp1ZcWRVnxT80uMT/s4160/20230207_121718_mfnr.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4160" data-original-width="1968" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_8ozKlneiEvaMHMfbSGZ85sliSQhZ_WGwpsjMo4zrd9lw7dsawXYw7K4DF6uh3Ldqj_y7o6VbWghiZ-Rh_wW9N5eE8XqZJTGAcB1POqbE1V56gRaXUmPaXWkGMPPk4_IliEHvD_p5VzwRrym26MRsO-WygA8T_iZuV4qvuYYBhp1ZcWRVnxT80uMT/w189-h400/20230207_121718_mfnr.jpg" width="189" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Thinking cap on, cushion covers? but decided to make a smaller quilt cutting off the damaged sides. Bought a sheet from Dunelm which was made out of recycled fabric, it was quite thin and very soft which made it a better match with the old worn soft fabric of the quilt. Used this as backing, covering up the worn out fabric. Made applique hearts to cover up holes on the "good side" put pretty binding on the edges. Will show the results of the Great Xmas Pressy make after the big day.</div><div><br /></div><div>In the meantime, thought I would show you my very homemade Xmas wreath. I had collected lots of fir cones this summer after sweeping up a path in one of my work gardens, seemed a shame to put them in the green bin.</div><div><br /></div><div>I started with a very old bentwood garden sieve which I bought in at an auction years ago. It was full of woodworm so I treated before painting it. Each cone was wired on, this took for ever. Added some gold bells and some shells which I had sprayed silver. A set of battery powered lights were wound around the cones.</div><div><br /></div><div>Its hung on my summerhouse as my front door is glazed.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WGiaKY9wGoY/X9e4DJB7TwI/AAAAAAAADx8/_Cx_YAyZ_Lk0vKYqZX8s8HviwRS-RDKQwCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/wreath.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WGiaKY9wGoY/X9e4DJB7TwI/AAAAAAAADx8/_Cx_YAyZ_Lk0vKYqZX8s8HviwRS-RDKQwCLcBGAsYHQ/w300-h400/wreath.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>All lit up, the lights are on a timer. When it arrived it was grubby but it cleaned up OK using the steam cleaner.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YokLyLP4ryg/X3B7k8YMQNI/AAAAAAAADtg/HcMh-FPngMModfObuG3epnuMw8PBJeoiwCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/PICT4904.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YokLyLP4ryg/X3B7k8YMQNI/AAAAAAAADtg/HcMh-FPngMModfObuG3epnuMw8PBJeoiwCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/PICT4904.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>The lining was a bit boring and showing its age. I took all the straps off which were held on by rivets which needed prising off, this took forever.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-I6Ais9dPxr4/X3B7kk2QRNI/AAAAAAAADtc/8HVZYqZ-ya0FtdCvJCVzr54Cte8hsAd6gCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/PICT4905.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-I6Ais9dPxr4/X3B7kk2QRNI/AAAAAAAADtc/8HVZYqZ-ya0FtdCvJCVzr54Cte8hsAd6gCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/PICT4905.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zKTJ5uZoPqs/X3B7k7BUrlI/AAAAAAAADtk/YiF3O40GkUIU8MltWyxYvHrfMOY72N00ACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/PICT4906.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zKTJ5uZoPqs/X3B7k7BUrlI/AAAAAAAADtk/YiF3O40GkUIU8MltWyxYvHrfMOY72N00ACLcBGAsYHQ/s320/PICT4906.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>Using screw together rivets I fastened the straps back in place on the new lining. It was bit tricky because of all the layers, the strap, fabric, foam layer for padding, then thin plywood, I don't think I would have been able to do if I had got the other type of rivets that you bash together.</div><div><br /></div><div>The fabric came out of my storage, I knew it would come in useful one day! I once bought a job lot at an local Auction house. My Sister was good at finding them as well. For those who don't know, these little half dolls were produced from the 1920/30s and were attached to pin cushion skirts, crumb brushes and tops of baskets. (The ones on the bottom row are sat on boxes so that they can be seen when the door is closed.)</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4jEM-VWdmZs/XxmidxDbeoI/AAAAAAAADq4/IjQpjyx-BTk_xQ1o_APbtJZsvbW6_V1XwCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/PICT4900.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4jEM-VWdmZs/XxmidxDbeoI/AAAAAAAADq4/IjQpjyx-BTk_xQ1o_APbtJZsvbW6_V1XwCLcBGAsYHQ/w400-h300/PICT4900.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>My neighbour likes the local Auction House and often buys job lots of china. I rinsed it in clean water for quite a while to make sure all the soap was remove, then it was hung on the line to dry.</div><div><br /></div><div>The base wasn't something I fancied keeping so made another one with some calico fabric and used new toy stuffing as I wouldn't be using it as a pin cushion. Instead of putting the doll flange inside the base, I put loops of ribbons through the holes so the doll could sit on the base and the ribbons were sewed down to secure. This way the doll will not flop about which is a common problem. Then before she was sewn down, I put the clean skirt back on.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OEKU2hzD4i4/XxmgVlZ_1TI/AAAAAAAADqc/8et7J8PAfDom6SXgXNg_bHIzTVVbTUlRACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/PICT4896.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OEKU2hzD4i4/XxmgVlZ_1TI/AAAAAAAADqc/8et7J8PAfDom6SXgXNg_bHIzTVVbTUlRACLcBGAsYHQ/w400-h300/PICT4896.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6-796DoDTBk/XxmgVZrwjlI/AAAAAAAADqY/eBp7J4ZE3KoYTYGl3QIR7BQ0f04HO9BgACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/PICT4897.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6-796DoDTBk/XxmgVZrwjlI/AAAAAAAADqY/eBp7J4ZE3KoYTYGl3QIR7BQ0f04HO9BgACLcBGAsYHQ/w400-h300/PICT4897.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-78Lql_N7qCs/XxmgJt5lBMI/AAAAAAAADqU/7M75HPxNVMc01xvJGd59wK-xnAOk6KmHwCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/PICT4895.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-78Lql_N7qCs/XxmgJt5lBMI/AAAAAAAADqU/7M75HPxNVMc01xvJGd59wK-xnAOk6KmHwCLcBGAsYHQ/w400-h300/PICT4895.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>The skirt is faded originally it was pale green but at least its clean. A couple of weeks ago, she had nearly lost her voice so I thought a little gift would cheer her up.</div><div><br /></div><div>As the shops were closed, I had a rummage in my sewing collections to make a gift basket. It's got some of her favourite yellow ditsy print fabric, a pair of cute scissors in a handmade case, some vintage buttons and a little patchwork wheat bag with home grown lavender in. The patchwork was left over from a project, there was enough to make an extra three, which have gone into my fabric stash to keep it smelling nice.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iRCXRHv0v_o/Xu3sjHO-C-I/AAAAAAAADlg/tdM3BiSkSvwSIw8sn6WyJXSHNE7FZgfLACK4BGAsYHg/s3264/PICT4877.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2448" data-original-width="3264" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iRCXRHv0v_o/Xu3sjHO-C-I/AAAAAAAADlg/tdM3BiSkSvwSIw8sn6WyJXSHNE7FZgfLACK4BGAsYHg/w400-h300/PICT4877.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><blockquote dir="ltr" style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding: 0px;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div></blockquote><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EiPEIXCisbI/Xu3tLzAzNBI/AAAAAAAADl0/TCWqYLKufysgnMg6UZM5nolB7r-MbrCvACK4BGAsYHg/s3264/PICT4878.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2448" data-original-width="3264" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EiPEIXCisbI/Xu3tLzAzNBI/AAAAAAAADl0/TCWqYLKufysgnMg6UZM5nolB7r-MbrCvACK4BGAsYHg/w400-h300/PICT4878.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>Who needs shops, when you have full cupboards and a sewing machine!</div><div><br /></div><div>Cheers</div><div>Sharon</div>Granny's Button Boxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01822845675603176211noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1272072686256241919.post-41608712602960125672020-06-20T11:55:00.000+01:002020-06-20T11:56:00.862+01:00Sewing Room Tidy UP<div>Hello</div><div><br /></div><div>My sewing room aka conservatory has been looking so untidy for absolutely ages, stuff everywhere so I had a bit of a tidy up and reorganise.</div><div><br /></div><div>I put a larger set of drawers into the summerhouse and was going to throw the smaller ones out but when I shifted them out, decided that they didn't look too bad and moved them into the conservatory. When I put them in the summerhouse they were light purple but the sun has faded them into a duck egg colour which is handy. The handles finally came for the other set but thought they would look nice on the smaller drawers. Eventually I would like a set of vintage drawers to replace these but they will do for now. Top drawer has all sorts of thread in it, next one has all my rulers (except the larger ones), third one has my covered notebooks in, zipped bags. The bottom one is for "stuff". </div><div><br /></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cvcxw-j8mDo/Xu3nc_cLkgI/AAAAAAAADi8/3eLviQkFLKkdLIB68iLO9WElTfJT8n1TgCK4BGAsYHg/s3264/PICT4884.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2448" data-original-width="3264" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cvcxw-j8mDo/Xu3nc_cLkgI/AAAAAAAADi8/3eLviQkFLKkdLIB68iLO9WElTfJT8n1TgCK4BGAsYHg/w400-h300/PICT4884.JPG" width="400" /></a></div> </div><div><br /></div><div>The sewing table is home to my 201K, I use it to top stitch my quilts. <br /><div>I have been unwell from the virus since 11th March, had 3 goes when I thought I was over it only for it to clobber me again. Its debilitating and scary not seeming to make any progress, its like snakes and ladders. I finally got tested, it was negative but no explanation way I feel so tired and at times quite ill.</div><div><br /></div><div>My dear friend, Sarah said she had sent a "surprise" in the post. We sew together so was expecting something sewing related. How wrong I was.</div><div><br /></div><div>It was a cream tea in a box all the way from Cornwall.</div><div><br /></div><div>An afternoon tea in the garden, set a table up, scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam. Its likely that it was the dreaded lurgie, which has absolutely floored me and I am still not back to normal yet. Last week I finally got a test and it was negative so that was the best news. I was worried in case it hadn't actually gone away. </div><div><br /></div><div>On Monday, I realised that VE Day was looming so a quick call into my local fabric shop for some material for bunting which arrived super fast. It was a handy panel with 32 printed flags on it. Got the White Featherweight out and made two lots of bunting, one for me and one for my fab sister. It was lovely to feel well enough to do some sewing on a machine. Not really used this machine much, I got from an Auction house in the a job lot of other things, some of which I sold. This machine was a bargain.<br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><u><font color="#000120"></font></u><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mJl0fpDyLTM/XrWZxfV2udI/AAAAAAAADZk/LSbdJAXFatoL_virSOHwVq8x4PudZBVmwCK4BGAsYHg/PICT4853.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2448" data-original-width="3264" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mJl0fpDyLTM/XrWZxfV2udI/AAAAAAAADZk/LSbdJAXFatoL_virSOHwVq8x4PudZBVmwCK4BGAsYHg/w400-h300/PICT4853.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">We had a tea party in the garden, my partner was in character. <br />
Been confined to barracks (well my sewing room aka conservatory) due to a pesky cough. So have been having a bit of play with my 222 Featherweight. Going to make a bag to keep the case in, this is work in progress<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IsP6swt7-RU/Xmz_Q4QnuiI/AAAAAAAADXQ/W8dbbVgHRKE2rEF9JefuAUOFsGpnd_urwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/casecover.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IsP6swt7-RU/Xmz_Q4QnuiI/AAAAAAAADXQ/W8dbbVgHRKE2rEF9JefuAUOFsGpnd_urwCLcBGAsYHQ/s400/casecover.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I made a few of these drawstring bags to keep the cables and plug in in my featherweight box that have the foot control in the holder in the lid so that the plug doesn't stratch the paintwork on the machine.<br />
<br />
The 1951 has a top accessory tray so the foot control and cables go in this bag and tuck it down the side of the machine to store it safely.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RMKhRanAeaw/Xmz_ce5eq1I/AAAAAAAADXY/HFeqRSraGXQHMcw8mgo2dndME44psiSbwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/drawstring%2Bbag.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1360" data-original-width="1600" height="338" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RMKhRanAeaw/Xmz_ce5eq1I/AAAAAAAADXY/HFeqRSraGXQHMcw8mgo2dndME44psiSbwCLcBGAsYHQ/s400/drawstring%2Bbag.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have been looking on Facebook, Blogger a lot over the last couple of days to fill the time in, a very clever lady on Facebook had the idea to use a loo roll tube to keep the cables tidy. Went a step further and covered it in pretty "sticky back plastic" in the tried and tested Blue Peter way!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I cannot for the life of me remember which Facebook page the idea was on so apols not to give a link.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Cheers</div>

<br />
Had a little outing with my big sister, we went on a Leatherwork 1 day course at <a href="https://artison.co.uk/">ArtisOn</a> on Friday. It was a full day course, in the morning we learned how to dye the leather, then using neatsfoot oil followed by a wax mixture conditioned the leather ready to work.<br />
<br />
We made a little coin purse with it, the hand stitching was a bit harder than I thought!<br />

<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-csh7xjvIdCg/XlUPJnvMOjI/AAAAAAAADWw/U_1KTH1d9goF6I9UMvG_Lil24yMmpGlMQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/purse2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1267" data-original-width="1600" height="316" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-csh7xjvIdCg/XlUPJnvMOjI/AAAAAAAADWw/U_1KTH1d9goF6I9UMvG_Lil24yMmpGlMQCLcBGAsYHQ/s400/purse2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Then after a yummy two course lunch, our next project was a belt. The belt blanks were already dyed for us, we had to put an edge on the leather with a special tool, then burnish the edge to make it smooth. We fitted the buckle then after gluing, hand stitched it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Sd9aIQydN2I/XlUO_1l-oeI/AAAAAAAADW0/0kXyfpPwnn8HX3yzhxKX52-AphjQ5pkAgCEwYBhgL/s1600/belt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Sd9aIQydN2I/XlUO_1l-oeI/AAAAAAAADW0/0kXyfpPwnn8HX3yzhxKX52-AphjQ5pkAgCEwYBhgL/s400/belt.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
So a new hobby to fit in around my sewing and machine repairs.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Its raining again! So no work today.<br />
<br />
I found this little set of drawers on Ebay, they were a filthy barn find apparently. So spent a little time today cleaning them up and filled them with treasure.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Don't know what make of machine they come from, there are no Simanco part numbers so presume its not Singer related. I think it must have been screwed into a Sewing machine cabinet as there are 4 screw holes on the back. I am guessing they are from the 20/30s?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Any suggestions of their pedigree would be welcome.</div>

<b>Update - have been told they are Vintage Bernania accessory drawers.</b></div>

<br />
I have given my friend's Singer 222K Featherweight a bit of a service. It had not been done for many years, it was in great need of some oil, lubricant and new feet.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Lj0QhGMglQw/Xg3Rx-QyHDI/AAAAAAAADVM/3owq7hy27h0wgQQrFMyfQ-2I3c24D7ziwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/wynnes%2B222k.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1306" data-original-width="1600" height="326" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Lj0QhGMglQw/Xg3Rx-QyHDI/AAAAAAAADVM/3owq7hy27h0wgQQrFMyfQ-2I3c24D7ziwCLcBGAsYHQ/s400/wynnes%2B222k.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>

Inside the manual is the original receipt.<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The box was looking well worn with very old stickers on it from when it moved abroad with her. Its amazing that it survived the journey. The stickers took some getting off, as usual I forgot to take a before photo. They have left a mark on the box but considering they had been there for 30yrs, not too bad.</div>

<br />
Happy New Year.<br />
<br />
The elf had been busy in my cottage, she (I) made Xmas presents and tree decorations.<br />
<br />
An embroidery floss folder.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0-SEvxaf9f8/Xg3Pslb4SGI/AAAAAAAADUw/edJURjMGAhglCrKDLzPxM-AQW64S0-tTACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/floss%2Boutside.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0-SEvxaf9f8/Xg3Pslb4SGI/AAAAAAAADUw/edJURjMGAhglCrKDLzPxM-AQW64S0-tTACLcBGAsYHQ/s400/floss%2Boutside.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>

<br />
<br />
<br />
Then got carried away making patchwork tree baubles with redwork embroidery panels. I love making these.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-a8DQb10skhQ/Xg3PmtAxOJI/AAAAAAAADUg/Woa0UxJdRAMe2Yf_C_NLPB9woUMXOb6IQCEwYBhgL/s1600/xmas%2Bbaubles.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-a8DQb10skhQ/Xg3PmtAxOJI/AAAAAAAADUg/Woa0UxJdRAMe2Yf_C_NLPB9woUMXOb6IQCEwYBhgL/s400/xmas%2Bbaubles.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Had a go at foundation patchworking making these Xmas tree coasters for my Christmas table.<br />

<br />
Went to the knitting and stitching show in Harrogate, lots of lovely things to buy including this cute pattern to make a Mouse. I got carried away and made two but one went to live with Olwen my dog walking buddy.<br />

<br />
My good friend Steph rang me earlier in the year to put her order in for her Xmas pressy. I always make her something and this year after seeing the one I made a couple of years ago, she asked for her very own advent.<br />
<br />
She is going to get her pressie early this year, hope she enjoys it.<br />

Hello</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Well after saying I was done with making baby quilts last year, I have made another one for my friend's new grandchild, a little girl.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
As I had left it a bit late for speed, I made the patches larger. The bonus of this was at least one teddy in each square could be seen and not chopped in half.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HnKkffL_NcM/XcvHnHu0kQI/AAAAAAAADS8/Njnsj8SDItg0QeMJ3-KgVf7DZ2yWVMOJQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/PICT4757.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HnKkffL_NcM/XcvHnHu0kQI/AAAAAAAADS8/Njnsj8SDItg0QeMJ3-KgVf7DZ2yWVMOJQCLcBGAsYHQ/s400/PICT4757.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Picked out the red to do the bindings.</div>
<div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-P9kL7wd2CME/XcvHuPFAB_I/AAAAAAAADTA/l7UmeoDsSKsTpmBoV1xnIZ15roLFO-1EACEwYBhgL/s1600/PICT4758.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-P9kL7wd2CME/XcvHuPFAB_I/AAAAAAAADTA/l7UmeoDsSKsTpmBoV1xnIZ15roLFO-1EACEwYBhgL/s400/PICT4758.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
There, dare I say it, my last baby quilt! Famous last words.<br />
<br />
Cheers<br />
