Quilts for Twins

Hello

My nephew Lee's wife is haviidentical so I made a couple cot quilts for them.

Used the same fabric but made them slightly different.  One has patchwork butterflies and the other cute bunnies.

As I had some fabric over, made a useful bag to put them in.  I was lucky to be given some leather from a local furniture company, the green was the perfect colour to match the green in the fabric, jammy or what.

Babies arrived safely one last night before midnight and the other early this morning so different birthday dates which will be nice for them when they grow up a bit.  They are both a decent size so should be home soon.

Cheers
Sharon

Update, babies doing well, identical girls.  They have called them May and June.  X

  3. Hello Sharon. Just found your blog which I enjoy very much. I have a question. I am thinking of buying a Singer 327. I have searched the internet trying to find out how many stitches per minute it sews. I make slipcovers and would like a faster machine than my 'brother'. Can you help me? Thank you. Brenda

    1. Hi Brenda
I don't know how many stitches per min the 327 does. Is a steady away machine. Have checked the manual but it doesn't say. If I was you, if you can afford the extra, I would get a Singer 201K every time. This model was the best machine Singer ever made. I have both models, the older cast iron one and the new design aluminum one. They have hardened steel gears so are really good sewing thick fabrics, extremely strong machines. They will go all day, I use the cast iron model for all my sewing now, this one has a knee controller which was odd to use at first but now I love it. Its a fast strong machine, the newer model is faster so either one would do. I was chuffed with the 327 when I first bought it but once I had used the 201K I was totally converted. The only down side to the 201 is that it is just a straight stitch machine and the 327K has a zig zag stitch. There is a zig zag attachment that fits the 201K and it works well. I did a review of the Singer 201K in April 2014, the newer model in Oct 2014, the zig zag attachment in Feb 2016. Hope this helps. Sharon x

    2. Thank you Sharon for some good info. I will definitely be looking at the 201K. I only want straight stitch, ability to sew through thick fabrics and speed. I learned to sew on a singer with a knee controller. Been a few years though! Thanks again.
